Ram Kumar Ramanathan will take on Seong-Chan Hong, ranked more than 200 places below him, in the first singles of the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania group-I tie between India and South Korea, starting in Chandigarh on Friday.

Haryana and Punjab Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, who is also Chandigarh's Administrator, made the draw at the Haryana Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh on Thursday.

While the first singles pits Ramanathan (world No. 217) against Hong (world No. 427), Saketh Myneni will square off against Yong-kyu Lim in the second singles.

On Saturday, July 16, the Indian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes will take on Hong Chung and Yunseong Chung.

Sunday's reverse singles will see Myneni play Hong and Ramanathan face Lim.

The match will be played on the grass courts of Chandigarh Club, under the supervision of the Haryana Tennis Association.

Chandigarh last hosted a Davis Cup tie in 2012, when India played New Zealand.
