England defender John Stones has been ruled out of their final two Euro 2016 qualifiers through injury, the FA said in a statement on Tuesday.

Everton's Stones, who sat out Sunday's Merseyside Derby against Liverpool with a knee injury, will miss the games against Estonia at Wembley on Friday and in Lithuania on Monday.

England are already guaranteed top spot in Group E and will finish the qualifying competition with a 100 percent record if they win their remaining two games.

Tottenham Hotspur right back Kyle Walker and winger Andros Townsend have been called into Roy Hodgson's squad for the double header with injury doubts also hanging over forwards Wayne Rooney and Danny Ings plus midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

Podolski ruled out for Germany's Euro 2016 qualifiers

Winger Lukas Podolski has been ruled out of Germany's Euro 2016 qualifiers against Ireland and Georgia over the next few days after picking up an ankle injury, the team said in a statement.

Podolski joined up with the squad on Monday but further tests showed the Galatasaray winger had inflammation of the ankle that ruled him out.

"He has since left the team and will receive further treatment at his club," the statement said.

Fellow midfielder Karim Bellarabi is also being treated for a shoulder injury but could still be fit in time for Thursday's Group D game in Dublin that could secure Germany a spot in next year's tournament. Germany then host Georgia in Leipzig on Sunday.

Ramos withdraws from Spain squad for Euro qualifiers

Real Madrid centre back Sergio Ramos has withdrawn from the squad for Spain's final two Euro 2016 qualifiers against Luxembourg and Ukraine due to a shoulder injury and has been replaced by club team mate Nacho.

Ramos dislocated a shoulder in Real's Champions League Group A match against Shakhtar Donetsk last month and although he played in Sunday's La Liga game at Atletico Madrid he is unable to feature for the European champions due to lingering pain, the Spanish soccer federation said.

Ramos is the latest to pull out following Villarreal midfielder Bruno Soriano, Real fullback Daniel Carvajal and Real Sociedad centre back Inigo Martinez, who all picked up injuries in La Liga action at the weekend.

They were replaced on Monday by Mario Gaspar of Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao pair Mikel San Jose and Xabier Etxeita.

Janmaat joins Dutch injury list for Euro qualifiers

Newcastle defender Daryl Janmaat is the third player forced out because of injury from the Netherlands squad for their last two Euro 2016 group qualifiers in the next week.

Janmaat has a knee injury and was ruled out after consultations with team doctors on Tuesday, the Dutch football association KNVB said.

It is a blow for Janmaat after being recalled to the squad after missing out last month against Iceland and Turkey in Group A matches.

Coach Danny Blind will not name a replacement as the Dutch depart on Wednesday for Astana where they meet Kazakhstan on Saturday. Riechedly Bazoer and Eljero Elia joined up with the squad on Monday as injury replacements for Davy Klaassen and Quincy Promes respectively.

Lying fourth in Group A, the Netherlands must win their qualifiers away against Kazakhstan and at home to the Czech Republic in Amsterdam next Tuesday to stand any chance of making the play-offs.

But they need Turkey, who are third in the group, to drop points at the same time.
