David BeckhamLaid up with a leg injury earlier this year, which left him unable to play for his new club AC Milan or for national squad England, David Beckham turned to one of India's great treasures to relieve his boredom, the 35-year-old British footballer recently revealed. And he didn't even have to leave Italy to do it.

After suffering a torn ACL on March 14, Beckham went online and ordered the LEGO Group's most magnificent toy -- a 5,922-piece plastic brick set of the Taj Mahal!

Then, in his ample spare time, he set about building the massive structure, enjoying it so much that he's decided that if it weren't for his football career, he'd be a professional lego builder. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star revealed his love for legos on July 16, during an appearance on a popular UK chat show hosted by journalist Jonathan Ross.

A day later, Danish company The Lego Group was already receiving quite a boost from Beckham's endorsement, reporting that sales of the US$300 set soared by 663 per cent in less than 24 hours!

Company officials reacted promptly to the news, inviting Beckham, wife Victoria and sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz to visit their head office in Denmark and contribute ideas for new lego projects, CNN said.

"David and the boys are big fans and we are always open to new ideas from people passionate about Lego." the Sun quoted a Lego spokesman as saying. "We hope they take us up on our invitation," he added.

No word yet from the Beckham camp on a possible trip to Legoland.
