Rohan Bopanna and Daniel Nestor set themselves up for their second title of the season by reaching the final of the Dubai Duty Free Championships on Friday.
The fourth-seeded Indo-Canadian pair got the better of second seeds Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands and Romania’s Horea Tecau 4-6, 7-6(9), 11-9 in a close semi-final.
Bopanna-Nestor had two chances to break the second seeds in the opening set but were unable to convert them even as they dropped serve once.
The second set was close, but the fourth seeds did well to prevail in the tie-break and take the match to the match-tie-break.
They now await the winner of the other semi-final between Dominic Inglot/Florin Mergea and Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi/Neand Zimonjic.
