Despite clinching the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold title last week, Indian shuttler H S Prannoy slipped three places to World No 27 in the latest BWF rankings released on Thursday.
The 23-year-old Prannoy, who had won the Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold in 2014, outclassed seventh seeded Zwiebler 21-18, 21-15 in a 45-minute final on Sunday to clinch the Swiss Open title.
The Indian, who burst into the scene after winning the silver medal in Boys' singles title at 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, gained 7,000 points to total 39,801.
In women's singles, Saina Nehwal and P V Sindhu were static at the sixth and 11th spots.
Among others, P Kashyap, who is recovering from a knee injury, was static at World No 17, while K Srikanth was the highest-placed Indian at 10. B Sai Praneeth and Sameer Verma surged three and six places respectively to be at World No 34 and 36.
Men's doubles pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy was at the World No 19 spot, while Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa occupy World No 15th spot.
