Asian Snooker: India's Lalit goes down to Hunain of Pak

Promising 16-year-old cueist from Pakistan Hunain displayed good skills along with a fine temperament to outwit India's Lalit Dahiya by 4 frames to 3 on day two of the 13th ONGC Asian Under-21 Snooker Championship in Goa.

The scores in favour of the winner were (68-33, 08-83(73), 26-59, 68-59, 71(54)-09, 44-55, 86-61).

It was the most absorbing match of the morning session. Both cueists shared the opening two frames with the first being won by Hunain. Lalit rallied brilliantly in the second with a break of 73 to make frame score one-all.

Lalit won the third game with a slender lead but the Pakistani teenager hit back and pocketed the four frame. Hunain notched up a break of 54 to wrest the fifth frame.

The sixth frame went to the Indian, but Hunain won the seventh one to settle the matter in his favour.

In other matches, India's Laxman Rawat outplayed Chan Ming Tung (Hong Kong) 4 frames to 1. Another Indian M L Laxman gave a 4 frames to 1 drubbing to Aloysius Yapp (Singapore).

In the 11th ONGC Asian Billiards Championship, former World Champion Pankaj Advani handed 4-0 defeat to Chew Kok Hwa Ricky of Singapore.

Former world billiards champion Peter Gilchrist routed a hapless S M H Aslam of Sri Lanka.
