If you thought World No 1 tennis star Serena Williams rested after the 18th Grand Slam title, you are wrong!
Williams was once again on the stage but this time it was her own fashion show during the New York Fashion Week.
Barely 48 hours after wining the US Open, the tennis ace hit the New York Fashion Week. No, she was not walking the ramp but she debuted with her HSN Signature Statement Collection.
Serena had a galaxy of stars supporting her show. She managed to get the backing of Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour from the front row. Serena did not fail to thank the fashion goddess after the show and tweeted, “All done! Thanks so much Anna Wintour for coming. I love you.”
The star-studded guest list included Caroline Wozniacki, whom she beat 6-3, 6-3 in the US Open final to clinch her 18th Major title. There was no love lost as the two friends were seen posing for dozens of flashing cameras before a big event.
Williams said she planned to return the favor and be there for Wozniacki when she runs the New York City marathon in November.
Also, comedian and actor Marlon Wayans came out to support the launch. He tweeted, “And the lady of the hour Serena Williams’ great clothes shortly! You got style and stuff!”
Williams has long dabbled in the fashion world. She started with Arenes in 2004 before joining hands with HSN.
