Defending champion Neeraj Chopra has made a smashing start with a massive first throw for 89.34 to qualify for the javelin throw final.
This is Neeraj's best throw of the season and narrowly short of his personal best of 89.94.
It is the best throw of the qualification round so far. Earlier, Julian Weber of Germany threw the javelin to 87.76.
Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem also made it to the final with a mighty throw of 86.59.
The other Indian in fray, Kishore Jena, is unlikely to make the 12-man final after managing a best throw of 80.73m.
