Saina Nehwal and Sikki Reddy ensured that the gold and silver medals will fall in India's kitty, as both shuttlers registered convincing victories to set up a summit clash in the girls' singles of the badminton competition at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune on Thursday.
Saina did not have much of a problem defeating England's Panuga Riou 21-12, 21 10, while Sikki Reddy continued her impressive run in the competition as she bundled Malaysia's Tiffany Chase Currier 21-16, 21-9 in just 20 minutes.
In the boys' singles, India's Aditya Prakash assured himself of a medal when he downed Scotland's Martin Cambell 21-14, 21-17. He will face Gurusaidutt, who beat Paul Rietvelde Van of Scotland 21-13, 21-12, in the summit clash on Friday.
Chinese Taipei Grand Prix champion Saina was all at ease as she used her skills well enough and also managed to succeed in out-thinking Panuga.
Sikki also made it to the final of the girls' doubles when she and P C Thulasi defeated Jessica Jonggowisastro and Mary O'Connor of New Zealand 21-13, 21-13.
