Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been banned for three matches for throwing a coin towards Burnley supporters during his club's shock League Cup defeat at Stamford Bridge last week.
The 30-year-old Ivory Coast international will serve the ban with immediate effect, ruling him out of the Premier League matches against Newcastle United, Arsenal and Bolton Wanderers.
"Drogba admitted a charge of violent conduct," an FA statement said on Tuesday.
"The charge related to Drogba throwing a missile into the away section of the crowd after scoring during the League Cup match against Burnley...on Wednesday, November 12."
Drogba has endured a disappointing season so far for Chelsea, missing several weeks with a knee injury and scoring just one goal since last season's Champions League semi-final against Liverpool in April.
