Amritraj concedes Canada Challenger tie

Prakash Amritraj crashed out of the US $35,000 ATP Challenger in Rimouski, Canada, after conceding his first round match against James Ward.

The Indian Davis Cupper was trailing 1-6, 2-4 against his British opponent when he decided to opt out of the contest.

In the doubles event though, Prakash along with Stephen Amritraj advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Luigi D'Agord and Nima Roshan in the first round.

The second seeded Indian pair prevailed over the Italian-American pair 6-4, 7-6 (6) in the hardcourt event.

Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna and his Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi went down fighting to the third seeded American-Briton pair of Eric Butorac and Ross Hutchins 6-7(5), 3-6 in the first round of the euro 106,500 Challenger event in Bratislava, Slovak Republic.
