Eighth seeds Leander Paes and Paul Hanley battled back from a set down to advance into the second round of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami on Friday.
The Indo-Australian duo beat Swiss Yves Allegro and Paul-Henri Mathieu of France 2-6, 6-0, 10-3 in the first round.
Paes-Hanley will next face Germany's Christopher Kas and Dutch Rogier Wassen, who beat Czech duo Leos Friedl and David Skoch 2-6, 6-4, 10-4.
India's Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas, seeded fourth, will play their first round match on Saturday against Tomas Berdych and Lukas Dlouhy of the Czech Republic.
