A combination of photographs shows Italian midfielder Daniele De Rossi and forward Antonio Di Natale reacting after missing their respective penalties during the shootout in the quarter-final against Spain in Vienna on Sunday.

The missed penalties cost the world champions dear as Spain reached the semi-finals with a 4-2 verdict on penalties after the match had ended goalless after extra time.
