The sports coat in 2006, the classical trousers last year, and defending champions Roger Federer came out on Centre Court wearing a cream sweater for his first round match against Dominik Hrbaty on a sunny Monday.
Federer will become the first man in the Open era to win the Wimbledon title six years in a row if he succeeds at the AELTC this time.
But With Rafael Nadal closing in and Novak Djokovic growing in stature, Federer's title claims have weakened, so much so that Bjorn Borg, the only other man to hold five successive Wimbledons, has placed him as the third favourite to win.
Federer has a 59 match winning streak on grass going into the Grand Slam.
