Sunitha Rao and Prakash Amritraj failed to advance in the Wimbledon qualifiers, both going down the second round on Wednesday.
Sunitha, India's second-highest ranked player, lost 4-6, 2-6 to 15th seed Russian Olga Poutchkova.
On Tuesday night, Amritraj put up a spirited performance but lost to 13th seeded Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky 3-6, 6-1, 3-6. Stakhovsky won his maiden ATP title at Zagreb earlier this year.
Sania Mirza, who has been seeded 32, will carry Indian hopes in the singles event of the third Grand Slam of the year while
Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes will present their challenge in the doubles event though with different partners.
