The Frenchman, one of the five from his country to reach the men's single's fourth round, lost in staright sets 6-4, 7-6, 6-3.

The Frenchman offered Gulbis only one break point opportunity in the first set and the Latvian sealed it with his fourth ace.
Llodra, with his chipping and charging, fought back from a break down to take the second set to a tiebreak only to lose it 7-4 and lost his way thereafter.
