The Serb, a losing finalist last year, justified her favourite status this year (after the retirement of Justine Henin) with a 6-0, 6-0 whitewash of Czech Petra Cetkovska.
The Australian Open runner-up will meet Swiss 10th seed Patty Schnyder, a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Slovenia's 27th seed Katarina Srebotnik in the quarter-finals. Cetkovska, who had not dropped a set in her first three matches in Paris, managed just 30 points on Sunday, 16 of them from Ivanovic's unforced errors.
