Sania Mirza and her American partner Bethanie Mattek stormed into the quarterfinals of the USD 600,000 East West Bank Classic tournament in Los Angeles after defeating Vania King and Alla Kudryavtseva in straight sets.
The second seeded pair pipped the American-Russian duo 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of the hard court event.
They next face Russian pair of Elena Versina and Vera Zvonareva, who beat American wild card Tracy Lin and Riza Zalameda 6-4, 6-4 in the opening round.
Sania advanced to the second round in singles on Tuesday, beating Eva Hrdinova in straight sets. She is now up against Chinese Meng Yuan in the second round.
