Prakash Amritraj's brilliant run at the Hall of Fame Championships in Newport saw him attain his career-best ranking, moving up 101 rungs to 204th spot in the latest ATP rankings.

Though Amritraj lost the final against Fabrice Santoro on Sunday, he gained 120 points and became the first Indian to reach an ATP singles event final after veteran Leander Paes, who won the event in 1998.

However, Prakash failed to emulate his father Vijay Amritraj who won the title thrice.

Rohan Bopanna, who upset top seed Mardy Fish to enter the quarterfinals at Newport, earned 45 points and also jumped almost 100 places to be ranked 279.

Bopanna also reached a career high of 43 in doubles. The Indian Davis Cupper, teaming up with Pakistan's Aisam Qureshi, reached the final, going down 6-4, 7-6 to Mardy Fish and John Isner.

Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi held on to their 15th and 12th position, respectively, in the doubles ranking.

Tennis ace Sania Mirza too remained static at the 33rd and 18th spot in the WTA singles and doubles chart respectively.
