Najafgarh's New Nawab

August 23, 2008

"If he is coming home, I will be on a different zone. Most of the time will be spent on making his favourite food and the most special kaju katli," she says.

  • Amarjeet, who was listening to all his mother was saying, couldn't suppress a cheeky laugh.

"Haan [yes], first you spoke of a being a poor family. Now you speak of Kaju Katli. Talking to the television people has made her like this. To be honest, there was no abject poverty. What papa earned was just enough, and the credit lies in the fact that she ran the house in competently. Neither me nor my brother felt we had to forgo anything for the sake of Sushil," he says.

  • What next for Sushil and the family?

"The Commonwealth Games. It would be great to see him win a gold medal in Delhi so many years after his first international gold, which also came there," was the reply in unison.
