Abhinav showed no emotion and was very composed even after creating history, earning India its first individual Olympic gold. According to the Bindras, the only time he got emotional was during his sister Divya's wedding (in the picture) last year.
Maintaining a strict regimen, the 25-year-old shunned partying, though he danced at that wedding. His first cousin, Ravinder Jeet Singh Nalwa, who is the IGP Telecom in Kolkata, in fact, was surprised to see him dance at the wedding in Chandigarh.

But Abhinav's sister Divya Kapur couldn't hide her emotions after Monday triumph at the Beijing Games. She said the family was waiting for the day when he would bring laurels to the nation.
"He has been working hard and has always remain focused on what he's doing. His Olympic gold medal-winning achievement did not come easy; he made a lot of sacrifices to reach the top and taste this victory," added Divya, who lives in Delhi.
