Easy victories were registered in the quarter-finals of the WTA Sunfeast Open in Kolkata on Friday.

Mariya Koryttseva of Ukraine and Anne Keothavong of Britain set up the first semi-final clash of the tournament, scoring straight set victories in the quarter-finals.

In the day's first quarter-final, Koryttseva beat Tatiana Poutchek 6-4, 6-2 while Keothavong brushed aside Israel's Tzipora Obziler 6-1, 6-3 in a later match.

The other semi-final will be between fourth seed Maria Kirilenko of Russia, who beat seventh seed Flavia Pennetta of Italy 6-3, 6-1, and Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia.

Second seed and world No 10 Hantuchova also had an easy time while getting the better of Yung-Jan Chan of Taipei 6-4, 6-1.

In the doubles, Vania King of the United States partnered Russian Alla Kudryavtseva to the final with a swift 6-0, 6-4 win over the Turkish-Russian combination of I Senogulu and Yaroslava Shvedova.

After winning the 54-minute semi-final battle, King and Kudryavtseva will now take on the winner of tomorrow's second semi-final between the Aussie-Indian team of Monique Adamczak and  Sunitha Rao and Italy's Alberta Bryanti and Korrytseva.
