India's tennis sensation Sania Mirza was beaten by Russian sixth seed Anna Chakvetadze in the third round of the US Open in New York on Saturday.

The 26th-seeded Indian failed yet again in her attempt to beat the Russian, as she went down 6-2, 6-3 to give Chakvetadze a place in the fourth round.

Today's victory is Chakvetadze's fourth win against Sania.

The Russian will next play the winner of a later match between Swiss 11th seed Patty Schnyder and Austria's Tamira Paszek.
