Riding on the back of an amazing run in the past couple of weeks, Sania Mirza jumped four places to 31 in the latest world rankings released on Monday.
Sania, who was ranked that high nearly two years ago, got back to her career-best ranking after reaching the final at the US $600,000 women's tennis event in Stanford, USA, on Sunday.
The 20-year-old Indian lost to Russian world no. 7 Anna Chakvetadze 6-3, 6-2 and settled for a purse of US $47,125 at the WTA Tour hard court tournament.
It was third loss for the Hyderabad-born lass in as many matches against Chakvetadze.
But the run to her third WTA final fetched her 190 points and put her one step away from breaking into the top 30.
