Leander Paes of India and Martin Damm of Czech Republic advanced to the second round of men's doubles after defeating Novak Djokovic and Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia 7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-3.
The fifth-seeded Indo-Czech pair will face unseeded Australian pair Nathan Healey and Robert Smeets in the second round.
