The shocking quarter-final exit at the Bangalore Open notwithstanding, Sania Mirza rose one spot to 45th in the latest WTA ranking issued on Monday.
The Indian, who lost to unseeded Russian Yaroslava Shvedova in the tier III event leaving a sizeable home crowd disappointed, now has 497 points.
The 20-year-old has, however, slipped in the doubles ranking and is down two places to 28th in the latest list with 1090 points. Sania had teamed up with Italy's Mara Santangelo in Bangalore and the duo was knocked out in the semi-finals.
Among the other Indians in the list, the US-based Shikha Uberoi (114.50) is the next highest placed at 232nd, a drop of five places from last week. Shikha had lost in the opening round of the Bangalore Open after getting a wildcard for the event.
