Third seed Novak Djokovic demolished Dutchman Robin Haase 6-2, 6-1, 6-3 to reach the second round of the US Open Tuesday.

The 20-year-old Serb, a semi-finalist at the French Open and Wimbledon this year, gave lucky loser Haase a harsh introduction to grand-slam tennis as he stormed through in one hour, 36 minutes.
