Salgaocar, Goa, emerged champions in the second division of the National Football League after Viva Kerala held ONGC Mumbai to a 3-3 draw in the last match of the league in Kozhikode on Sunday.
Salgaocar topped the table with 11 points. The Goan team and Viva, which stood second, qualified for the first division of NFL.
K Shyju scored the first goal for Viva in the sixth minute after collecting a pass from Shineraj. He went on to increase the score to 2-0 in the 42nd minute.
In the next minute, Tariff Ahmed opened the account for ONGC from a penalty kick. Later, Nigerian Baba Thunde converted a penalty for Viva in the beginning of the second half to make it 3-1.
Capitalising on a pass, Tariff Ahmed, substitute for Rakshak Naik, earned the second goal for the Mumbai side and the equaliser came from Tariff in the 83rd minute.
