Third seed Maria Sharapova continued her march through the U.S. Open by beating fellow Russian Elena Likhovtseva 6-3, 6-2 in the third round.
Sharapova has not lost a set in her three matches and enters the second week of the Open playing exceptionally well.
"The second week of a Grand Slam is obviously going to be a lot tougher than the first," she said. "That's a no brainer. But with every match you've got to play better and better tennis to win it.
