2006 French Open

Fifth seed Andy Roddick was forced to withdraw from his first round match against Spaniard Alberto Martin at the French Open on Tuesday because of a recurrence of an ankle injury.

Roddick suffered the injury last week at the World Team Championship in Duesseldorf and had been a doubtful starter in Paris.
