In a charge to the finish line, Australia’s Emma Snowsill won the Women’s Triathlon with a time of 1:58.02. In her first Commonwealth Games appearance, Snowsill went into the event as the favourite and claimed the gold medal.
New Zealand’s Samantha Warriner followed 35 seconds behind to claim the silver medal. In a kiwi sprint for the bronze, New Zealand’s Andrea Hewitt managed to hold out compatriot Debbie Stella Tanner.
