They come in all sizes!
The three giants
The tallest football players at World Cup 2006 are Nikola Zigic, a forward with the Serbia & Montenegro team, as well as Aussie goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac (left) and Czech striker Jan Koller.
They all stand 6 foot 8 in their socks!
Zigic often uses his head more than his feet and his head technique brought the 25-year-old Belgrade Red Star player notice in Serbia's qualifying match with Spain.
Koller began his football career as a goalie but his pace and skill won him a more prominent role in his team. In a pinch he goes backing to keeping the nets after shooting a goal as he did for one Bundesliga match!

The enormous arm span that comes with his height makes Australia's Kalac, better known as Spider, a very competent goalkeeper.
By the way English striker Peter Crouch -- at 6 foot 7 -- is in good company.
