A football mela
Out in Seoul, this group of excited fans was part of the 180,000 supporters who braved pre-dawn fatigue to watch the match between South Korea and France on June 18 that was telecast on a giant screen from 4 am local time.
Some one million supporters -- in this soccer crazy land -- hit the streets to cheer nationwide.
The Korea Times reported that many hotels in central Seoul were full as football-crazy workers preferred to stay near their offices to facilitate a quick commute after the game. Some schools and offices changed their hours or offered a holiday on Monday, June 19.
