A roller coaster of emotion
Munich: 21-year-old Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the field after the match with France with brimming eyes and emotions barely in control on July 5.

This tournament has certainly been a tough one for Cristiano. The Madeira-born striker, who is considered one of the best young players of the Cup, sat out of a number of games after he sustained an injury in a game with Iran.

He returned to play England in the quarter-final. The English tabloid The Sun converted his face into a dartboard on its front page, a day after the match, for his alleged role in having England's great hope Wayne Rooney sent off. He was also accused of diving in the match against France at Munich.
