Australian Open 2006
Switzerland's Roger Federer cries as he holds the Norman Brooks trophy after beating Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus in the men's singles final at the Rod Laver Arena, in Melbourne, on Sunday.
Federer came back from a set down to beat the unseeded Baghdatis 5-7, 7-5, 6-0, 6-2 and win the Australian Open for the second time while capturing his seventh Grand Slam title.
"I guess it's all coming out now. I've had some hard speeches but this one is really tough," said Federer, with tears streaming down his cheeks.
The 24-year-old joined American Richard Sears and Briton Will Renshaw as the only men to win their first seven Grand Slam finals. Sears and Renshaw both achieved the feat in the 1880s.
