Indian boxers Jitender Kumar, Diwakar Prasad and Manoj Kumar were outpunched by their respective boxers and stopped well within the distance in their quarter-final bouts at the Asian Games in Doha on Thursday.

Melbourne Commonwealth Games bronze-medallist Jitender could not match the might of his Filipino rival Violito Payla and the 51 kg (flyweight) mis-match resulted in the referee stopping the contest with the Indian outscored 1 minute, 23 seconds into the third round.

The 18-year-old Haryana fighter had entered the quarter-finals after shocking 2002 Busan Asiad silver-medallist Karim Nauman on points in the pre-quarters.

His compatriots Prasad (feather) and Manoj Kumar (light welter) also met the same fate from their much stronger rivals B Sultonov of Uzbekistan and Sapiev Setik of Kazakhstan respectively and lost by RSCOS (Referee Stopped Contest Out Scored).

Prasad was halted at 1:16 while Manoj at 1:29 in the third rounds of their 57 and 64 kg bouts.
