Churchill Brothers humiliated Vasco 4-0 to register their first victory in the Hutch-Goa Football Association Professional League, at the Nehru stadium, in Margao, Goa, on Wednesday.

In another match, played at Duler ground, in Mapusa, Raia stunned Sporting Clube De Goa 1-0, thanks to a 76th minute goal by striker Wesle Coutinho, who headed home a free-kick from Rocky Baretto.

They too posted their first victory in the league.

Raia now have four points from four matches while Sporting, who suffered their first defeat, have seven points from four matches.

Churchill surged ahead in the sixth minute through Khanthang Paite following a pass from Nigerian striker Odaya Obyeka Okolle.

The goal opened the floodgates, as Vasco's defence failed to check the marauding rival strikers.

Drupesh Dessai increased the lead in the 23rd minute with a powerful, angular shot off a pass from L Robert.

Okolle, who played a key role in Churchill's attack, then scored twice. He was brought down by Vasco's Sujay inside the box and referee Angelo Fernandes awarded a penalty, which he converted in the 40th minute.

Soon after resumption in the second half, Okolle completed a brace, scoring from the top of the box, off a pass from L Robert.

The victory took Churchill Brothers' tally to six points from four matches.

Vasco, who suffered their first defeat have seven points from four outings.
