The first wet race in years transformed a slow and twisty Hungaroring circuit, where overtaking is usually a rare treat, into one that offered more passing manoeuvres than anyone could have imagined.
Alonso showed his mettle by overtaking Schumacher round the outside of turn five in lap four despite starting with a heavy fuel load.
