India will have no representation in the men's singles at the French Open after Harsh Mankad failed to qualify for the Grand Slam on Tuesday.

Mankad was unable to cross the qualification hurdle, losing his first round match to Zbynek Miynarik of Austria 3-6, 4-6.

Shikha Uberoi, representing her adopted country, the United States, also disappointed as she crashed to a first round loss in the qualifiers.

Shikha, seeded 21, was knocked out by unseeded Jarmila Gajdosova of Slovakia 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.

Sania Mirza will feature in the main draw of the women's singles, starting on Monday, while Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes would play in the men's doubles with their respective partners.
