German Open

Patty Schnyder, seeded seventh, dropped just four games during a 52-minute demolition of Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova.

She beat the 19-year-old fourth seed 6-2, 6-2, seizing the initiative from the start and dashing to the net for winners.

Swiss Schnyder, who reached the last eight after Kim Clijsters retired from their match on Thursday, now faces Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne in the semis.
