Manager Jose Mourinho rushed on to the pitch at the whistle with his bench in tow and embraced the players, then withdrew while they danced in front of the supporters in the away corner of the Stadium.

The Portuguese, who arrived last June, shored up Chelsea's defence, has ushered passion into the team, is known to give inspirational quotes and was recently banned for maligning referee Anders Frisk during the Champions League game against Barcelona.

Even Alex Ferguson, his keen rival at Manchester United, had to apperciate his talismanic quality.
"He's brought something to the Premiership; he's got a humour about him. He's got a confidence about him that's suited well to his team," Ferguson remarked.
