A vengeful Andy Roddick hurtled into the second round with a 6-1, 7-6, 6-2 demolition of Czech Jiri Vanek.
"I felt like it was a pretty good performance," said Roddick. "I got out of the gates and broke three times in the first set and twice in the third. Three sets, I'm through to round two."
Roddick will meet Italian lucky loser Daniele Bracciali in the next round.
