French Open champion Rafael Nadal made a seamless transition to grasscourt tennis by pounding American Vince Spadea into submission 6-4, 6-3, 6-0 in the first round at Wimbledon on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old Spaniard had little problem unleashing his muscular style of play on the lush lawns of Centre Court as he began his bid to become the first man in 25 years to win back-to-back French Open and All England Club crowns.
