Roddick, who was outclassed by the champion, surrendered tamely in just 101 minutes.
The second seed was unable to put Federer under any sustained pressure and finished runner-up to his Wimbledon nemesis for the second year in a row.
Roddick's only two defeats in his last 34 grasscourt matches have come against Federer.
