Wimbledon 2005, Day 11
Amelie Mauresmo was left to dwell on yet another missed opportunity after she stumbled in the semi-finals for the third time.
On each of her last three visits to the All England Club, the Frenchwoman reached the last four and every time she has had to walk off court a beaten player.
Friday's 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 defeat by American top seed Lindsay Davenport left the 25-year-old still searching for her first Grand Slam title.
"It was a great match but, of course, even though you play great, you want still to have the win at the end of the day, which is not the case," said Mauresmo.
"I played good but not good enough to beat Lindsay."
