East Bengal captain and custodian Sangram Mukherjee on Sunday suffered a head injury while playing for his office team in an inter-railways football tournament at Kalyani near Kolkata.
Mukherjee, an employee of Metro Railways, suffered a wound on his head during the match but was treated on the spot by the medical team present at ground, rail sources said.
Stating that the injury was "not serious", East Bengal club sources said the player would accompany the team, which would leave on Monday, to play the away matches of the National Football League.
