August 27. China's Liu Xiang (left) heads to victory as France's Ladji Doucoure stumbles in the men's 110 hurdles Olympic final.
Liu took the gold in a world record-equalling time of 12.91 seconds to become the first Chinese man to win an Olympic track and field title.
He matched the mark set 11 years ago by Briton Colin Jackson in Stuttgart, Germany.
Terrence Trammell of the United States took silver while Cuba's Anier Garcia won bronze.
