Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, London police said on Monday.
The Icelandic player, who kept his club on course for the Premiership title with the only goal in Saturday's match against Everton, was stopped while driving in Surrey, southwest of London, during the early hours of Sunday.
"The driver, a 26-year-old man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol," police said in a statement.
Gudjohnsen was taken to a South London police station and later bailed to return on a date at the end of March, it added.
Chelsea's win, achieved without injured attackers Arjen Robben and Didier Drogba, lifted their points tally to 68, nine points clear of nearest rivals Manchester United by the end of the weekend.
