Dempo Sports Club, Goa, advanced to the semi-finals of the Federation Cup football tournament with a 1-0 victory over Churchill Brothers, also of Goa, at the Sree Kanteerava stadium in Bangalore on Monday.
Dempo meet Kolkata's Tollygunge Agragami for a place in the final.
Mohun Bagan take on Jagajit Cotton Textiles, Phagwara, while East Bengal will clash with Sporting Club de Goa in the other quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Today's encounter between the two Goan outfits was lacklustre, with both teams struggling to get their act together. In the end, luck favoured Dempo as they raised their game after a barren first half.
Brazilian striker Cristiano De Lima Junior scored the all-important goal in the 80th minute, after Churchill goalkeeper Mark Mascarenhas failed to cleanly collect a shot from Nigerian Ronty Soleye Martins. The ball popped out of his hands and Junior made no mistake with the rebound.
But for this costly lapse, Mascarenhas did a fine job under the bar and brought off at least a couple of good saves.
