French Open 2004 - Day 10
Three-time French Open champion Kuerten had never lost to a fellow-South American in a Grand Slam tournament, but Nalbandian proved too solid.
"Everybody knows what it means to me to play in this tournament. I had a rough time today but I think I surprised myself by the way I played," said Kuerten, who was French Open champion in 1997, 2000 and 2001.
